Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 9 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup light brown sugar, minus 1 tablespoon
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 6 ounces chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
- 2 sift flour, salt and baking powder together. set aside.
- 3 beat shortening and sugar together until fluffy.
- 4 add egg and beat thoroughly.
- 5 beat in vanilla.
- 6 gradually add dry ingredients and beat on low speed until thoroughly combined.
- 7 stir in chips.
- 8 drop onto lightly greased cookie sheets and bake for about 12 minutes, or until edges begin to brown.
