Sauerkraut Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup drained sauerkraut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 blend the butter and sugar together in a large bowl.
  • 2 add the eggs and mix again.
  • 3 sift the dry ingredients together, then add the water alternately with the sifted, dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture.
  • 4 stir in the sauerkraut and vanilla.
  • 5 put in two 8 x 8 inch pans and bake at 350 f for 30 minutes.
