Shortbread Toffee Squares

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 ounces german sweet chocolate, melted in
  • 1 tablespoon water

Recipe

  • 1 cream 1/2 stick butter with 4 t sugar.
  • 2 blend in flour.
  • 3 spread onto greased 8-inch square pan, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
  • 4 mix together next 4 ingredients and cook, stirring until mixture leaves the side of the pan.
  • 5 add vanilla.
  • 6 pour over shortbread.
  • 7 cool.
  • 8 spread melted chocolate over toffee.
  • 9 cool.
  • 10 cut into squares.
