Shortbread Toffee Squares

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
- 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 ounces german sweet chocolate, melted in
- 1 tablespoon water
Recipe
- 1 cream 1/2 stick butter with 4 t sugar.
- 2 blend in flour.
- 3 spread onto greased 8-inch square pan, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
- 4 mix together next 4 ingredients and cook, stirring until mixture leaves the side of the pan.
- 5 add vanilla.
- 6 pour over shortbread.
- 7 cool.
- 8 spread melted chocolate over toffee.
- 9 cool.
- 10 cut into squares.
