Shortbread Brownies

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (16 ounce) envelope ghirardelli double chocolate brownie mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3/4 cup pecan halves

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 for shortbread crust:.
  • 3 in medium bowl, stir together flour, powdered sugar and butter until dough forms a ball.
  • 4 press dough into greased 9x13 inch pan.
  • 5 bake 10-12 minutes.
  • 6 for brownie:.
  • 7 in medium bowl, stir together brownie mix, egg, water, oil until moistened (about 40 strokes).
  • 8 spoon brownie batter evenly over cooked shortbread crust.
