Sauerkraut Chocolate Cake

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, rinsed, drained well and chopped fine

Recipe

  • 1 cream sugar and butter.
  • 2 beat in eggs, vanilla, salt and cocoa.
  • 3 add dry ingredients and water alternately.
  • 4 blend in kraut and mix well.
  • 5 pour into a greased and floured bundt cake pan.
  • 6 bake at 375f for 45-50 minutes.
  • 7 top with a powdered sugar glaze.
