Sponge Candy - Just Like Malt Balls

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • chocolate

Recipe

  • 1 mix sugar, syrup and vinegar in a 3 quart saucepan. cook to hard crack stage (300 degrees).
  • 2 remove from heat, add baking soda, mix quickly. pour into a greased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inch pan. cool.
  • 3 invert pan, break into bite size pieces. spread or dip into melted chocolate.
