Mmmm ! English Toffee !

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 ounce chocolate
  • 12 pecan halves

Recipe

  • 1 melt the butter in a saucepan.
  • 2 add sugar, salt and vanilla.
  • 3 boil gently several minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning. until it reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.
  • 4 arrange 1 cup pecans on 8 inch square pan.
  • 5 pour the boiled mixture over top and spread to cover evenly.
  • 6 let toffee set up for 15minutes until slightly firm but still very warm.
  • 7 sprinkle with chocolate chips and allow them to melt completely.
  • 8 gently spread chocolate to cover completely.
  • 9 arrange pecan halves over top.
  • 10 cool to set.
  • 11 drizzle with melted chocolate and let cool completely.
  • 12 break into chunks to serve.
