Irish Chocolate Velvet

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1 2/3 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 4 ounces milk chocolate, broken into squares
- 4 tablespoons irish whiskey or 4 tablespoons brandy
- whipped cream (for topping)
- chocolate curls (to decorate)
Recipe
- 1 whip the cream in a bowl until it is thick enough to hold its shape.
- 2 put the milk into a saucepan and whisk in the cocoa powder.
- 3 add the chocolate squares and heat gently, stirring, until the chocolate has melted.
- 4 bring the chocolate milk to the boil.
- 5 remove pan from heat and add the whipped cream and whiskey or brandy.
- 6 stir gently for 1 minute to blend well.
- 7 pour quickly into 3 heatproof mugs or glasses and top each serving with a generous spoonful of whipped cream.
- 8 decorate with chocolate curls and serve at once.
