Patent Leather Icing - Glossy Chocolate

Ingredients
- 3 ounces chocolate
- 1 well beaten egg
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler.
- 2 combine the egg, milk, water and sugar and stir into the chocolate.
- 3 cook the icing over hot water for 20 minutes, stirring often.
- 4 remove it from the steam.
- 5 beat it with a rotary beater for 1 minute or until well blended.
- 6 stir in the vanilla.
- 7 cool the icing before spreading it.
- 8 tightly covered and stored in the refrigerator it will keep for several days.
