Mint Layer Fudge

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup marshmallow cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 drops green food coloring

Recipe

  • 1 chocolate layer:.
  • 2 in a heavy 3-quart saucepan mix sugar, evaporated milk, marshmallow creme, butter and salt.
  • 3 cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture comes to a rolling boil. boil and stir 5 minutes.
  • 4 remove from heat. stir in chocolate chips until completely melted. add vanilla.
  • 5 pour into a buttered 8-inch square baking pan. let cool.
  • 6 mint layer:.
  • 7 stir together 2 tablespoons butter, powdered sugar, evaporated milk, peppermint extract and green food coloring.
  • 8 mix until smooth. pour over cooled chocolate fudge.
  • 9 refrigerate until firm. cut into 1-inch squares.
