Mom's Hershey's Bar Cake

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 8 -9 ounces plain hershey chocolate candy bars
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (your preference)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2 grease and flour a tube pan.
  • 3 melt hershey bars.
  • 4 dissolve soda in buttermilk. set aside.
  • 5 cream sugar and margarine. add to melted candy. add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • 6 add the 2 1/2 cups sifted flour alternately with the buttermilk/soda mixture.
  • 7 add vanilla. add nuts. pour into floured pan.
  • 8 use a toothpick to check for doneness.
  • 9 cool thoroughly. (do not invert pan).
