Super Easy And Wonderful Microwave Toffee

- 3/4 cup heath bits 'o brickle toffee pieces
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 butter a baking sheet. i used my tupperware wonder mat for easy clean-up and didn't need the extra butter.
- 2 sprinkle 1/2 cup of heath bits in a 9" circle on your wonder mat.
- 3 butter the top edges of a 2 quart microwave safe casserole pan.
- 4 place the butter, salt, sugar and water in the caserole. do not stir!
- 5 place the dish in the microwave on high for 6 to 8 minutes. check it after 7 minutes.
- 6 continue cooking a minute at a time until the mixture just begins to turn tan. you need to watch it here. the first batch i tried, i checked at 6 minutes and then had to run 3 more one minute intervals. the second batch i checked at 7 minutes and it was perfect.
- 7 remember -- do not stir.
- 8 pour the mixture over your heath bits.
- 9 immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top and let them sit for one minute.
- 10 after one minute, spread the chips out with a rubber spatula.
- 11 sprinkle the remaining heath bits over the top.
- 12 place in the fridge until cooled.
- 13 after the toffee is cooled, break into bite sized pieces.
- 14 toffee can be frozen for up to a month.
