Slow Cooker Oatmeal

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 cup steel cut oats (dry)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 cups milk (or vanilla almond milk)
- 2 -3 vanilla beans (or 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds, ground (optional)
Recipe
- 1 grease the crockpot with either butter, margarine or coconut oil (or else your oatmeal will stick).
- 2 add ingredients and gently stir. place the lid on the crockpot and turn on before going to bed. let cook on low for 8 to 9 hours and wake to the smell of maple syrup and cinnamon.
- 3 top with your favourite toppings such bananas and chopped bittersweet chocolate , almonds and pecans, figs, dates, raisins, blueberries or chopped apples.
