Rich Chocolate Ice Cream

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, unsifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3 1/2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 4 cups light cream

Recipe

  • 1 combine sugar, flour and salt in medium saucepan, gradually stir in milk.
  • 2 blend in eggs, add baking chocolate.
  • 3 cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils, boil and stir 1 minute.
  • 4 remove from heat, add vanilla.
  • 5 beat with wire whisk until mixture is smooth.
  • 6 chill thoroughly.
  • 7 add light cream to chilled mixture.
  • 8 freeze in ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's directions.
  • 9 for firmer ice cream, cover and freeze for several hours).
