Scotcheroos

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 6 cups rice krispies
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 2 cups butterscotch chips

Recipe

  • 1 combine sugar and syrup in heavy saucepan.
  • 2 cook, stirring, to boiling.
  • 3 remove from heat.
  • 4 stir in peanut butter.
  • 5 pour syrup mixture over rice krispies in large mixing bowl.
  • 6 caution, syrup mixture will be hot!
  • 7 mix thoroughly with wooden spoon.
  • 8 press into greased 13x9x2 pan.
  • 9 melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together over low heat or in double boiler.
  • 10 stir well.
  • 11 pour melted chips over krispies.
  • 12 spread evenly.
  • 13 allow to cool.
  • 14 cut into 1" squares.
