Lowest Calorie Chocolate Sponge

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons splenda granular
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g diet cola
  • 50 g self raising flour
  • 50 g cocoa powder

Recipe

  • 1 pre-heat the oven to gas mark 5.
  • 2 first mix the splenda, eggs, and diet cola with an electric whisk till it's well mixed and a bit frothy.
  • 3 then sift the flour and cocoa powder into the wet ingredients.
  • 4 fold together gently with a spatula, so as not to knock out all the air, or over-stretch the gluten in the flour.
  • 5 pop this mixture into a lined 7in diameter tin, and bake for 30 minutes.
  • 6 leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack to finish cooling.
