Peanut Butter Cups & Peppermint Patties

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 50
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup karo syrup
  • water (just enough to form a ball)
  • 1 lb ghirardelli dipping chocolate
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract

Recipe

  • 1 divide fondant ball into two pieces.
  • 2 peanut butter cups:-----------------------------------------------------------------------.
  • 3 add peanut butter to half of the fondant ball.
  • 4 roll about 1 t. of peanut butter fondant into a ball and flatten slightly with your palm. repeat with all the peanut butter fondant. this makes the centers for the peanut butter cups.
  • 5 set out a mini-muffin cup for each of the peanut butter centers you made.
  • 6 melt half the chocolate microwave on half-power. stir every 30 seconds until smooth and don't overheat.
  • 7 pour a little melted chocolate in the bottom of a mini-muffin cup and place a peanut butter center on top of the chocolate. fill the cup about 3/4 full of chocolate. save your "dirty" chocolate dish, you'll use it again.
  • 8 allow chocolate to harden and peanut butter cups are finished!
  • 9 peppermint patties:-----------------------------------------------------------------------.
  • 10 add peppermint extract to the 2nd half of the fondant ball.
  • 11 roll about 1 t. of the peppermint fondant into a ball and flatten slightly with your palm. repeat with all the peppermint fondant. this makes the centers for the peppermint patties.
  • 12 set out a mini-muffin cup for each of the peppermint centers you made.
  • 13 melt half the chocolate microwave on half-power. stir every 30 seconds until smooth and don't overheat.
  • 14 pour a little melted chocolate in the bottom of a mini-muffin cup and place a peppermint center on top of the chocolate. fill the cup about 3/4 full of chocolate.
  • 15 allow chocolate to harden and peppermint patties are finished!
  • 16 keep some for yourself and give the rest as gifts!
