Super Tasty Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup hot water
• 2/3 cup shortening
• 1 3/4 cups sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/3 cups buttermilk
• 1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
• 2 grease and lightly flour a 9" square pan.
• 3 in a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
• 4 set aside.
• 5 in a small bowl, stir cocoa and water into a smooth paste.
• 6 set aside.
• 7 in a large bowl, cream together shortening, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
• 8 beat in the eggs one at a time.
• 9 mix in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
• 10 mix in the cocoa paste until thoroughly combined.
• 11 stir in chocolate chips.
• 12 pour batter into pan and bake in oven for 40-50 minutes, or until baked.
• 13 let cool slightly and serve.
