Swedish Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 ounces baking chocolate, unsweetened,melted
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • dry breadcrumbs

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325f degrees.
  • 2 butter a bundt pan and sprinkle with about 2 tbsp.
  • 3 dry breadcrumbs, until it is well-coated.
  • 4 in a large bowl, mix the sugar and the shortening and cream well.
  • 5 blend in the eggs, one at a time, and beat well.
  • 6 stir in the melted chocolate.
  • 7 sift together the dry ingredients.
  • 8 combine the cream and vanilla extract, and then add to the chocolate mixture alternately with the dry ingredients, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  • 9 pour the batter into the pan and bake for 50-60 minutes.
  • 10 cool the cake in the pan a few minutes before removing.
