Self-filled Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 (18 1/2 ounce) package devil's food cake
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 dash salt

Recipe

  • 1 prepare cake mix according to package directions. spoon batter into paper-lined muffin pans, filling 2/3 full.
  • 2 in separate bowl, combine cream cheese and sugar - creaming until light and fluffy. add egg and salt - beating well, stir in chocolate chips.
  • 3 spoon one heaping teaspoon of cream cheese mixture onto center of each cupcake.
  • 4 bake at 350f for 25 minutes.
  • 5 cool in pan for 20 minutes.
