President Roosevelt's Birthday Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 3 eggs, well beaten
• 1 cup cold black coffee
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 cup cocoa
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 tablespoon vinegar

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
• 2 grease and dust an 8 x 8 cakepan with cocoa.
• 3 cream butter and add sugar a little at a time.
• 4 cream well; add eggs.
• 5 sift flour, salt, soda and cocoa together 3 times.
• 6 add coffee to batter alternatively with flour mixture.
• 7 then add vinegar and vanilla.
• 8 bake at 350 degrees about 30 to 40 minutes.
