Stole My Heart Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 (18 1/4 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
  • 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 2 (1 1/3 ounce) envelopes whipped dessert topping mix

Recipe

  • 1 prepare chocolate cake according to directions on the box. bake in a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • 2 while cake is baking: in a medium bowl mix cream cheese and sugar together until blended.
  • 3 in a seperate bowl mix the powdered whip topping according to the directions on the box. mix until light and fluffy.
  • 4 place cream cheese mixture and whipped topping in the refrigerator.
  • 5 when the cake has finished cooking and cooling, spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake.
  • 6 pour the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese mixture.
  • 7 frost carefully with the whipped topping and refrigerate until ready to serve.
