Ingredients

- 1 (18 1/4 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
- 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 2 (1 1/3 ounce) envelopes whipped dessert topping mix
Recipe
- 1 prepare chocolate cake according to directions on the box. bake in a 9 x 13 inch pan.
- 2 while cake is baking: in a medium bowl mix cream cheese and sugar together until blended.
- 3 in a seperate bowl mix the powdered whip topping according to the directions on the box. mix until light and fluffy.
- 4 place cream cheese mixture and whipped topping in the refrigerator.
- 5 when the cake has finished cooking and cooling, spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake.
- 6 pour the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese mixture.
- 7 frost carefully with the whipped topping and refrigerate until ready to serve.
