- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 5/8 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- confectioners' sugar for dusting

- preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c). grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan. sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa. set aside.
- in a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream, water and vanilla. beat in the flour mixture just until incorporated. stir in chocolate chips. pour batter into prepared pan.
- bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out a wire rack and cool completely. when cake is cool, sift confectioners' sugar over the top.
