Oaty Chocolate Caramel Slice

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 5 1/4 ounces butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup coconut
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 ounces butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 9 ounces dark chocolate

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 melt butter, golden syrup and brown sugar in a saucepan, remove from heat. mix dry ingredients in a bowl, pour in butter,syrup and brown, mix well. press mixture into a 8" x 8" pan.
  • 3 bake 20 to 25 minutes until golden.
  • 4 melt 3 oz butter, brown sugar, condensed milk and golden syrup in a saucepan and simmer, stirring, until mixture thickens and becomes caramel coloured.
  • 5 pour over the base and allow to set.
  • 6 melt chocolate and spread over set caramel.
  • 7 cut into squares once set.
