Skillet Toffee

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups unblanched almonds
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
- 1/4 cup finely chopped almonds
Recipe
- 1 melt butter in skillet over medium heat.
- 2 stir in sugar until mixture is smooth, and keep stirring and cooking for about 10 minutes.
- 3 add the unblanched almonds to the sugar/butter mixture, and continue stirring and cooking for 10 more minutes.
- 4 pour candy mixture into an ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan.
- 5 melt chocolate in top of double broiler (or you can melt using a microwave).
- 6 spread the melted chocolate evenly over toffee.
- 7 before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle with chopped almonds.
- 8 break into pieces when hardened.
